TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION
- Competition Name:
“100 Photos for 100 Years; Competition and Digital Exhibition (NLTR100.PHOTOS)” - Subject and Purpose of the competition:
Our photography competition is organized with the theme of “Friendship” to make the friendship between the Netherlands and Türkiye visible in the “100th Year” of the friendship agreement between the two countries. The competition aims to encourage rethinking the concept of friendship through the use of photography, to record this friendship with each photo taken, to remind people of friendships that extend beyond borders, to make visible everything about friendship that can fit into a single photograph using the impressive aspect of art, and to create a memory.
In line with this purpose, 100 photographs selected by the selection committee will be exhibited digitally through this website, and efforts will be made to increase the visibility of these photographs.
We believe that the competition will further increase cultural interaction between the two countries and contribute to the existing friendly relationship. - Competition Organization:
Organized by “Amidart Culture & Art Community” and “212 Photography Istanbul”, with the support of the “Embassy and Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands”. - Competition Categories/Sections:
In the Digital (Numeric) category, Color or Black and White photographs make up a single section. Color or Black and White photographs will be evaluated in the same category by the jury. - Competition Conditions:
- Participation is free.
- Amateur and professional photographers from all over the world can participate in the competition. (Participants under the age of 18 must obtain written consent (approval) from their parents or legal guardians.)
- A person who participates in the competition with at least one photograph will be referred to as a “Participant” thereafter.
- Each participant can apply with up to 3 (three) photographs.
- Some adjustments such as color, sharpness, dust removal, and acceptable levels of photographic contrast adjustments may be made to the photographs. The documentary structure of the photograph should not be altered.
- There is no objection to the use of photographs that have won awards in other photography competitions.
- Works produced using multiple photographs are accepted provided that the frames used belong to the photographer.
- Photographs taken with or without manned or unmanned aerial vehicles are accepted in the competition. The use of manned or unmanned aerial vehicles for photography is the responsibility of the participant, including all permissions and responsibilities.
- Photographs generated with artificial intelligence are not accepted.
- All parts of the photographs sent must be photographed by the person who holds the copyright of the photograph the original version of the photograph must be sent. Those who do not comply with this rule will be excluded from evaluation.
- Participants are responsible for the processing of their personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law, its transfer, and the implementation of all administrative and technical measures. In this context, in case of processing of photographs belonging to real persons, the persons must be informed and their consent must be obtained within the scope of the law. The responsibility of the persons who may be seen in the photographs lies with the photographer. It is accepted that they allow the publication of the photograph in visual, internet, and printed media. Participants are responsible for photographs that are not transferred in compliance with the law.
- The participant declares, undertakes, and warrants that all photographs uploaded for the competition are entirely his/her own and that all permissions have been obtained. Any interventions and changes that mislead the selection committee and use other people’s images, either as they are or partially, even if the work is not his/hers, are considered “violation of the rules”.
- It is recommended that the EXIF information (such as DPI, pixel information) of the photographs uploaded to the web system be kept intact to facilitate possible investigations. Otherwise, the regulatory agencies are not responsible for the problems that may occur in the system.
- The regulatory institutions may request high-resolution digital files of photographs deemed worthy of exhibition from the participants.
- The regulatory institutions may decide to cancel or postpone the entire or part of the competition under appropriate conditions. In case of cancellation or postponement, they have the right to determine the methods and rules to be applied. The regulatory institution is authorized to make any changes, including changes to the specifications, including awarding, in solving problems and uncertainties.
- Copyright (Usage) Rights:
- The right to publish, use, and exhibit the photographs belongs to the photographers together with the organizing institution. The right to use the photograph cannot be sold/transferred to a third party or institution by the organizing institutions. Copyright ownership belongs to the participant and cannot be transferred to the management.
- Photographs to be exhibited will be kept in the archive of the organizing institution for one year.
- From the date the competition is concluded, the participant is deemed to have given consent to the “processing”, “reproduction”, “distribution”, “representation”, and “transfer sign, sound, and/or image” of his/her photographs, as defined in Articles 21, 22, 23, 24, and 25 of the Law No. 5846 on Intellectual and Artistic Works. The person agrees that his/ her photographs will be introduced and published in the photographs to be “organized by the regulatory authorities and their organizations” without any content limit as required by the “relevant law”. During this period, the use of photographs will be owned by the photographer (participant) together with the regulatory authorities.
- Participants acknowledge that they have given permission to the organizing institution for the use of the photographs sent to the competition. They accept that they will “not withdraw their permission under any circumstances” and will not prevent the use of the photograph. The participant accepts, declares, and undertakes that he/she has no claim for rights and receivables from the organizing institution, and that he/she will not make any material and moral demands now and in the future.
- The participant accepts, declares, and undertakes that all photographs sent/uploaded for the competition are entirely his/her own, taken by him/her, and all permissions have been obtained. In case of using images belonging to others, the legal responsibility for any copyright violations that may arise will belong to the participant.
- The participant declares, accepts, and guarantees that the photograph he/she sent for the competition is his/her original photograph, that no third party has any rights on this photograph, and that he/she has not transferred the rights to the photograph previously. In case of a demand by a third party to the contrary, he/she declares, accepts, and guarantees that he/she is legally responsible.
- The permission to photograph architectural structures, works of art, human faces, etc., used as objects in the photographs sent to the competition, belongs to the “participant”. The permissions for the publication of these photographs in the internet and printed media are also the responsibility of the “participant”, and the “regulatory authorities” accept that these permissions have been obtained. The entire responsibility for disputes that may arise due to such uses belongs to the “participant”.
- Photographs deemed worthy of exhibition will be published on the website www.nltr100.photos and the official Social Media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) of the competition. Additionally, the selected photographs can be used in the publications, social media accounts, websites, and posters/billboards of the organizing committee.
- Photographs selected for exhibition may be printed by the organizing committee without any charge to the participant. After printing, the photographs will be archived and may be included in the circulation of the exhibition.
- Photographs not deemed worthy of exhibition will be automatically deleted from the system after 30 days.
- Other Issues:
- The location and time of the competition exhibition will be announced by the organizing committee. Photograph owners and participants will be informed accordingly.
- In cases not covered by the specification or in case of disputes, decisions made by the organizing committee and the jury will be valid.
- Participants will submit their competition photographs online at www.nltr100.photos. Participants will be deemed to have read, understood, and accepted the terms and conditions of the competition by uploading their photographs to www.nltr100.photos “These specifications will come into force as the participant submits the competition photographs.” Participants have no right to object to the provisions of these specifications at a later date.
- Naming and Sending/Uploading Photographs:
- Competition applications will only be accepted electronically via the website www.nltr100.photos
- Competition photographs will be sent/uploaded online (online) via www.nltr100.photos following the photo submission/upload instructions.
- When applying to the competition via the website, the participant must check the box indicating that they accept the rules specified in the specifications.
- Participants under the age of 18 must upload the consent form they received from their parents or legal guardians as a PDF.
- Uploaded photographs must be without a mat and without margins. Information such as the participant’s name, signature, logo, date, etc. related to the participant’s identity must be included on the photograph.
- The technical specifications, sizing, and naming of the photographs to be uploaded for participation should be prepared in advance, and the files should be kept ready and uploaded in a single session.
- Photographs to be submitted to the competition should be saved in JPG/JPEG format with a resolution of 150-300 DPI and the file size should be at least 1 Mb and should not exceed 4 Mb. If the EXIF information is corrupted, the system will not allow the upload of the photograph(s).
- When uploading photographs to the system, the “Photograph Name,” “Place Taken,” and “Date Taken” information must be written in the relevant fields on the form that opens. This information will be taken as the participant’s declaration./li>
- Participants should write short stories about their photographs in their own narrative style, consisting of a maximum of 50 words.
- The organizing committee will not be responsible for any problems that may arise from the uploading of photographs.

- Evaluation and Awards:
There are no awards in the competition. Certificates will be given to photographers whose photographs are deemed worthy of exhibition. A thank you message, including the names of 100 participants, will be published on the website of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Consulate General of the Netherlands. - Competition Schedule:
The competition will start on the date of publication of the announcement.
Deadline for Applications: 27 April 2025.
